Most of you reading this page believe you are already a Christian living in the kingdom of God and that is great because this material should serve you as a refresher course for what actually occurred at the beginning of your spiritual journey, BUT…… for many of you this training course will be concepts and truths that you have never been taught about what TRUE Christianity really is according to the Scriptures.
This may shock many of you, but YOUR CHRISTIAN LIFE IS BASED UPON A DECISION to commit your life to Jesus as the Lord and boss of your life and SUBMIT to His call to REPENT by turning away from your self-centered life in the world systems where you make all the decisions, NOT SAYING A PRAYER ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS.
It is much more than making a choice between going to heaven or hell.
Do you realize that the life you are living here in your “earth walk” is the training for your life throughout eternity? Jesus has made a way for us to live as overcomers living in victory over all the circumstances of life on this earth walking in the same fourth dimensional lifestyles we will live throughout eternity. The life we are living here on earth is preparing us for the life we will live throughout eternity as we continue to rule and reign with King Jesus and our heavenly Father.
Before we progress any further we must define terms we are using. The first term is "kingdom".
A kingdom is a form of government ruled by a "king" or a "monarch" that rules with supreme power and authority.
A prophecy about the birth of Jesus is found in Isaiah 9:6-7: "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest upon His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this."
The original apostles, including Peter, had known their Lord "according to the flesh", but Paul only knew Jesus in His glorified spiritual state of being as King, Lord, Creator, and Master of all. That is why we don't see Paul teaching about the miracles that the Lord did while in His fleshly body. Paul declares to us who the Lord is today in His capacity as King Jesus of the eternal kingdom of God.That is why Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 5:16 --
" Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer."
Paul was simply stating that even though the original apostles had known Jesus and proclaimed Him as a physical person, from now on they should all proclaim only the eternal Lord and King that has been given a "name that is above all names and at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is the Lord" --Philippians 2:9-11.
When we meet the true King Jesus our lives become changed forever because we have encountered the life altering message of the King and His kingdom.
Today, we are to no longer know King Jesus just according to the flesh as the bearded one with long hair, sandals, and a robe. We are not to see Him as the baby in a manger, or the preacher on the hillside speaking to the multitudes, or the skinny bloodied body hanging on the cross. Today, we are to know Jesus as the eternal King of all creation and the Supreme power and Ruler of the universal kingdom. He is the most glorious and powerful being in the entire universe and when we meet the true King Jesus our lives become changed forever because we have encountered the life altering message of the King and His kingdom.
When Paul proclaimed the gospel of the kingdom of God it was with power and it changed people's lives.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 -- "And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God."
1 Corinthians 4:20 -- "For the kingdom of God does not consist in words, but in power."
When we go to a meeting at our local church facility on Sunday morning, do we hear a message of persuasive words of wisdom, or do we hear a proclamation of King Jesus as Lord and His kingdom accompanied by a demonstration of power?
This difference in seeing who Jesus really is can be a life altering concept. That is why I have included it in this section on the kingdom of God.
The gospel message of the kingdom of God is a life altering and life transforming message. Central to the gospel message is the proclamation that Jesus is Lord and that He is alive and well as the Supreme power and Ruler of His universal kingdom. From the moment we meet Him and have our encounter with King Jesus, we bow our knee to Him and from that moment on we begin to obey Him as we learn to hear Him instruct us by His Holy Spirit.
Is the Christ you know the mighty Ruler over all, or the bearded hippy-lookin' man we see in pictures
When you went to a meeting of a church and heard a speech about salvation, did you respond to that message by one of the following actions?
If you did any of these things, you most likely DID NOT GET SAVED as that preacher told you and you DID NOT BECOME A CHRISTIAN..
Becoming a true Christian is a life altering experience. It changes you into a radical revolutionary for the KINGDOM OF GOD.
The message that Jesus and the early Church preached was very simple and extremely powerful. It was simply "REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND." This was the message declared for the first 300 years after the resurrection of Jesus.
Is that the message you heard and responded to?
We need to examine this message that Jesus and His disciples proclaimed so we can discover what true Christianity is and make sure we haven't swallowed a false salvation message that has kept us spiritually weak and unproductive in the Kingdom.
