RIGHTEOUSNESS & FAITH
January 23, 2013
|Hi, Rob here!
Today I want to share some thoughts about......
RIGHTEOUSNESS & FAITH
Please forgive me for not sending out this communique for the past several months as I had promised. I had become entangled in the everyday affairs of this life and took some time off from the work of ministry and yet God in His faithfulness has caused the ministry to grow around the world. This website now teaches in over 80 countries around the world and the readership has grown by thousands.
My purpose for sending out this monthly communique is to help people learn how to live this "exchanged life" and be transformed to function as a son or daughter in the Father's family. After all, the will of God for the Church is to BE JESUS TO THIS WORLD.
1 John 4:17 – “; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
So the question is "How do we do that?"
Jesus is what the Church is all about. He said, "I will build My Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."
He also said, ", he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;"
Romans 1:17 -- “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”
Our two biggest problems as Christians are 1) we don’t actually believe we “are the righteousness of God” and have the same right standing before the Father that Jesus does as a son or daughter in the Father’s family, and 2) we live far below where God intends for us to live because we don’t imitate the Father or Jesus in how they live by faith.
Ephesians 5:1 -- “Be imitators of God, as beloved children;”
We see these two principles combined in order to produce our salvation in Romans.
Romans 10: 9-10 -- “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Being righteous is not something that we do -- it is what we are. It is our nature. If you are genuinely born again you are a new creation in Christ. You are no longer the same natural human person you were. You have become a new species on this planet - a covenant person in union with the living God of the universe. You have become the righteousness of God. Being the righteousness of God in Jesus is what actually makes us like Jesus in our daily walk in this life. Remember, “As He is, so are we in this world.” He is righteous, therefore I am righteous. This nature of being righteous is what gives us power and authority over this world and all the powers of Satan and his demons.
When we begin to understand our righteous standing we no longer live with a sense of need or lack, we no longer tolerate fear or condemnation, we no longer allow Satan or demons to overcome us or create havoc in our lives. We take our stand as an ambassador of Jesus on this earth and declare His Lordship and we take our stand as masters over our circumstances just like Jesus did when He walked on this earth.
Once we realize that we are righteous as a member of God’s family, we need to learn how to live this new life as a new creation. This new life is to be lived by faith.
2 Corinthians 5:17 -- “for we walk by faith, not by sight--”
This is the second of the two great problems I see among Christians. To understand how to live by faith we need to examine the way that God Himself lives by faith. What examples do we find to show us how to operate in faith?
First, let’s look at creation. We see that when God created something He simply said something and then it happened. He said “light be” and then light was. The principle in operation was “say it” then it would manifest. All creation was accomplished using this same principle – He spoke it into existence. Jesus illustrated for us by His life and walk on this earth the same. He was like His Father, He did things with words. He used words to create and to express authority. He commanded the laws to nature and they obeyed His words.
He healed the sick and diseased with words.
He cast out demons with His words.
He changed water into wine.
He fed multitudes with bread and fish expanded by words.
He performed miracles day after day by using words.
As you can see, words are both CREATIVE and CONTROLLING. With words, kings and despots issue decrees and control their subjects, the news media uses words to control the masses, and words are powerful enough to create psychosomatic sickness and disease. Jesus taught us in Mark 11:22-24, “Have the God-kind of faith. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you.”
The saying of what you desire to have or to occur must happen before the manifestation.
Our problem is that we get hung by our tongue, logic, and emotions. Instead of imitating God, we imitate everyone else on the planet even though they may not be new creations in Christ. We say with our mouth what we see, what we have, and what we feel instead of continuously saying what we want and what we believe.
Remember that old saying that goes like this – “What you say is what you get?” That is a true principle and it works whether you are a follower of God or not. It is the way the human family was created to operate.
In Romans 4:17 we see another principle of faith. God “calls into being that which does not exist.”
As our model of how to walk in faith, we are to imitate His example. Let’s begin to call into our lives what we really want and quit saying what we currently see with our natural eyes.
There is a lot more I will share on this subject in the next communiques.
Thank you so much for your support by purchasing my e-books. These past several months have been outstanding and I have received many e-mails from around the world from those that have read them. If you haven’t yet checked them out go now.
Until then, may the Lord open the eyes of your heart and understanding, may He make His internal presence known to you in a very real way, and may He fill you with His peace.
