You Were Created to Function Just Like God
September 30, 2014
|Hi, Rob here!
Today I want to share some thoughts about......
YOU WERE CREATED TO FUNCTION JUST LIKE GOD DOES
This is a sample of the newsletter that is replacing this Covenant Communique' newsletter.
THIS COULD BE THE MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENT YOU HAVE EVER READ OTHER THAN THE BIBLE ITSELF.
I know the headline sounds like heresy or some new age philosophy, but it is true. Let’s think about it for a few minutes. We Christians live so far below the capabilities that our Creator has placed within us.
First of all Genesis chapters 1 and 2 tell us that the human family was created in the likeness and image of God with His life breathed into us. That creation has never changed, we have simply lived in the darkness since our original parents Adam and Eve disobeyed their Creator. We still have the attributes we were created with even though they are deeply buried within us and we live according to our natural abilities rather than our supernatural abilities because we have been blinded all of our life in the kingdom of darkness until we were “born again”.
Scripture tells us that when Jesus came to the earth He was the second Adam. In other words, He functioned as a duplicate of the same kind of life that was originally in Adam when he was created. Adam was given the life of God when God breathed that life into him and he became a living being. Adam had the life of God within him just like Jesus did. When you were “born again” what really happened to you? We take that experience as such a simple spiritual experience without really comprehending the magnitude of what it really means. The Bible tells us that we “died” to our old life in the darkness and have been given “new life” in the light or kingdom of God. We couldn’t even see the reality of the kingdom of God until we were born again. (John 3:3) Romans 6:4-7 tells us that we died to our old life when we were baptized in water and when we came up out of the water we were raised into a “new life”.
2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that we are a “new creation” in Christ. We are “in Christ” because we are in union with Him through the Holy Spirit who lives within us. If we are “in Him” and He is “in us” by the Spirit we have His life within us and therefore we have the same spiritual genetics as the original Adam and the Second Adam, Jesus.
Scripture tells us in 1 John 4:17 that “AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD.” We must meditate on this until we get the revelation of its truth and fully comprehend it in our lives.
To be “born again” means that we have been given a brand new start in a brand new life. We are no longer the same as we used to be. Therefore, we must learn what it means to be a “new creation” with a brand new life. We must learn how to live this brand new life in this brand new kingdom. We must learn how to function within this new life. We are to be “imitators” of God as His children (Eph. 5:1). That is how we become successful in life. That is the reason I said that “success is a journey, not a destination”. It is the journey of learning how we are to live this new life as imitators of our Father. Learning how to do things the way He does things.
He sent Jesus to this earth to “demonstrate” for us how to live the life we were created to have as offspring of Adam as he was originally created to function before sin caused the defect that catapulted the entire human race into darkness and corrupted that original creation. The Father’s vision and His dream are to “restore that which was lost” and it is being fulfilled every time someone is born again.
This, my friends, is the purpose of this newsletter. To bring to our understanding a clear vision of how we are to live as imitators of God and to achieve the success in life that He originally designed for us to have. To live by faith, to be overwhelmingly more than conquerors, to walk in divine health, to live with abundance in all things, to be filled with joy and peace, to bring His kingdom to pass on this earth, and to be co-laborers with Jesus to “restore THAT which was lost”. This is the most exciting life anyone could ever live. Jesus did not come to give us a new religion called Christianity. He came to restore the “LIFE” that had been stolen in the garden.
Matthew 6:10 – “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
