If the kingdom of Heaven is at hand now - how do we enter it?
In this section of the covenant kingdom website we will examine what the kingdom of Heaven is and how we can enter into it. The problem with this is that we cannot get a passport or a visa to change from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God. The ONLY WAY is to die in the kingdom of darkness and then to be born in the kingdom of God. Without understanding this you can become a very "religious" Christian, but not a true transformed, "born again" Christian in the covenant family of God. Now this is a truly radical, revolutionary concept, but is a foundational principle to understanding the Christian life that Jesus died to give us.
The Kingdom of Heaven, by the simplest definition, is that sphere of influence where Jesus is Lord throughout the entire created universe. It is also called the kingdom of God and the kingdom of light.
The Church are those people who have heard that the kingdom of heaven was at hand and chose to reject the kingdom of darkness and bow their knee to Jesus making Him the Lord of their life. They have chosen to be "born again" into this new kingdom, ruled by King Jesus.
The word kingdom can be broken down as king/dom meaning "a king's dominion". This is what the kingdom of God really is: The dominion of King Jesus.
Matthew 16:18 -- "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it."

The message that we commonly refer to as "the gospel", or the "good news" was actually the proclamation that "the kingdom of Heaven was at hand."
Let me explain why this was considered "Good News".
There are two kingdoms that are in conflict on this planet. One is the kingdom of God; and the other is the kingdom of darkness, or the kingdom ruled by Satan. The primary message of Jesus and the early Church was that “the kingdom of God was at hand”. We also know, according to Genesis chapter 1 & 2, that mankind was created to live in union with His Creator and to rule over all creation on this earth. Man commitment an act I called the Great Disobedience and suffered “death”, or loss of the life connection with His Creator, because he chose to yield to Satan’s influence through the serpent rather than obey his Creator. God had told Adam that if he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he would surely die and obviously Adam did not believe what God said. That great act of disobedience is what has become the foundation of the kingdom of darkness.
Disobedience is an act that denies God the right to be God and therefore establishes someone else as the "god" that is able to decide what is good and what is evil, or what is right and what is wrong.
SIN is the act of rejecting God's right to rule!!
And the rejection of that right to rule results in "death".ROMANS 6:23
-- "FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH."
Sin is always a choice we make and we can choose either the kingdom ruled by Jesus or the kingdom of darkness.
Jesus said, But seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness;..."
"; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."
"For the kingdom of God does not consist in words, but in power."
", unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
", unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
But God has given us free will and the ability to choose. He has made a way for us to enter the kingdom of heaven and it is "at hand".
But to truly appreciate what God has made available to us we must understand what the kingdom of darkness is and how it effects our lives because that is where we used to live and where the majority of the people still live.
